Mr. Peters had to be my favorite.  I was interested about other religons and he would bring in someone that lived in his apartment building that would explain their belifs.  The other things I remember about him was when he get mad.  He would pick up a eraser and throw it at the person not paying attention and hit someone two aisles over.  Then the whole class would start laughing and he would even get madder and come over to the boys and swing his cane at your head and if you didn’t dunk it hurt.

I remember John Uetz coming out of Mr. Peters class laughing because he threw an eraser at his head. He used to say ” Shut up Uetz, I’ll make you look like Kojac!!!! LOL

  2. Hey Ray, fascinating post. Peters was my favorite as well. I tried finding him over the years but no luck. Probably gone by now. Led to my taking an M.A. in theology with a concentration in world religions (and feminist theology which is a whole different conversation). What a great guy. Your classic brilliant curmudgeon.

1970-1976 Classes…George and Chris Harrison are looking forward to seeing the young people (now a little bit older!!) that made the Shamrocks of Sacred Heart the envy of Dearborn and the Catholic League A-West Division on August 1st. I have a golf outing earlier in the day, but should be about 9:00 pm…see ya then…Coach Harrison and Chris (and, yes…my wife is still pretty!!)
